Marco Huck defended his WBO cruiserweight title in impressive fashion against Firat Arslan and showed his opponent what the truth was between the two, after the controversial first duel in November 2012.
This time, Huck left no doubt, scoring a decisive 6th round TKO victory to retain his title.
Huck performed well in front of the sold out with 11,000 spectators at the Hanns -Martin- Schleyer-Halle. However, the initial phase belonged to the challenger. The local hero rushed like a buffalo and pushed straight ahead in the first two rounds.
Huck disobeyed even Ulli Wegner’s invitation to get away from the ropes. It was not until the third round Huck was active and always came back with his jab – even to the body of his opponent.
In the following years, an intensive exchange of blows, which became the best advertisement for the German boxing developed between the two boxers. The decision was taken in the sixth round. After a headshot blood Huck seemed to have leaked , turned in his dreaded attack mode and covered with a shock Arslan volleys.
Although the local hero fought after two knockdowns again on its feet , but the captain turned his opponent shortly thereafter permanently in the corner. Arslan could no longer defend himself, the referee had no alternative but to cancel the fight.
“The first fight I had taken lightly. Now I have done everything , wanted all the critics shut her mouth. This is me did a good job,” Huck said afterwards.
The old and new world champion defended the total twelfth consecutive year his title.
