Undefeated junior middleweight prospect Vanes “The Nightmare” Martirosyan (28-0, 17KOs) has been sparring tough at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California, as he prepares for a return to the ring in the near future. The Glendale, California, based fighter has been sparring with fellow undefeated prospects Craig McEwen (19-0, 10 KOs ) and Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin (22-0, 16 KOs) the past few days. Martirosyan is very familiar with Craig McEwen, the middleweight from Scotland.
“Craig and I have known each other for a while,” the impressed Martirosyan stated. “Whenever we have a fight around the same time, we always end up sparring each other.”
McEwen recently secured a fight on HBO against Andy Lee that will open up HBO’s World Championship Boxing show on March 12th that features Sergio Martinez defending his title versus Serhiy Dzinzurik, “I expect Craig to win that fight. He has the talent and he has the best trainer in the world in Freddie Roach so I think he will put on a great performance and come out with the win.”
Quillin is a super middleweight prospect who also looks to return to the ring soon. Vanes sees greatness in him as well, “Kid Chocolate is a guy that has everything it takes to be a world champ. I liked sparring with him. It brought the best out in me as well and I can’t wait to spar with him again.”
Team Martirosyan will have an announcement soon for Martirosyan’s next opponent. In the mean time, “The Nightmare” has a message for the fans.
“I am working my ass off here at Wild Card. We are like family here and everyone helps each other get better. Fans can expect me in the ring again soon and I promise to put on a spectacular performance.”
