For more than a decade the face of Mia St. John has adorned magazines, posters and television screens as she blazed a trail in the female boxing world.
Not many people know that St. John has worked on various charitable organizations including one that she established several years ago.
The Mia St. John Foundation is sponsoring a fundraising event “El Saber es Poder/Knowledge is Power” on Friday May 20, beginning at 8 p.m. at the Watermark Tower located at 705 W. Ninth Street in downtown L.A.
St. John has been active in other work and will share Friday’s non-profit event with a large number of other luminaries including models Leila Shennib, Daphnee Duplaix, musicians Jude, Daisy Gomez, and DJ Severe, plus television star Lou Pizzaro of Operation Repo to name a few. A number of professional athletes and media personalities including promoter Claudia Ollis of Bad Chicks will also attend the affair.
All proceeds go toward inner city youth programs.
