This past weekend, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. scored the biggest win of his still young career, toppling challenger Andy Lee with a 7th round TKO victory. With that win, Chavez Jr. cements his status as one of the best middleweights in the world, and it means it’s time for an update of our middleweight division rankings. In addition to the top 10 at middleweight, we’ve also gone back to the drawing board with our heavyweight division rankings, after the crossroads showdown this past weekend between Tomasz Adamek and Eddie Chambers. Take a look.

Chavez Jr. looked great against Lee, packing thudding punches and a dynamic offensive attack. Sergio Martinez is clearly still the man at 160 lbs, but Chavez Jr. now must represent a legitimate challenger. The hope, of course, is to see the guys matched up with one another this fall, so let’s hope that it happens. In the meantime, view the updated standings to see where Chavez Jr. sits today, and where the other names in the division, including the European titleholders, stand.
At heavyweight, Tomasz Adamek proved that even if he doesn’t have the size to deal with the Klitschko brothers, he’s still a force to be reckoned with for everyone else in the division. As for Chambers, he started out well in the fight but suffered an arm injury. Regardless, weighing just 202 lbs at the weigh-in, he really just should finally suck it up and move down to cruiserweight where he could immediately rank as one of the top fighters in that class.
Enjoy our updated heavyweight and middleweight division rankings and the new top 10s with both classes, and keep on checking back with ProBoxing-Fans.com for more breaking boxing news.
