Natasha Jonas will take on Bojana Libszewska this Saturday at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, on the undercard to Butler vs Hall’s eliminator clash, in her second professional fight of her career.
Jonas, 33, hails from Liverpool and cannot wait to be fighting in her hometown alongside fellow Liverpudlians, Rocky Fielding and Tom Stalker.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Jonas said, “Newcastle was a brilliant debut and people really got being me and supported me but there is nothing like being at home, Scousers love boxing and they love to get behind their own. They just love to be involved and support their own. It’s going to be a great night of boxing, there is a brilliant a card with lots of good fights on there and I think everyone will enjoy it.”
“Nothing is ever a formality in boxing. You’ve got to train hard and there is lots of weeks of training before you even get into the ring for fight night. I got a lot from the training [before my last fight]. I got a lot from the spars and I just soaked up the atmosphere. I knew the whole world was watching because it was my first one and the main thing was to make a statement on my debut and hopefully I did that.”
Bojana Libszewska, has had 27 professional fights but Jonas has admitted to not seeing much of her opponent.
“I know that she fought Chantelle Cameron last,” Jonas added. “That’s all the footage we’ve got really but we’re going in with our game-plan. We’re hoping to stick to that and make her adapt to us rather than us adapting to her.”
Natasha Jonas vs Bojana Libsewska is part of a huge night of boxing from Liverpool’s Echo Arena this Saturday night.
