Wasserman Boxing promoted at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, and in the bill topper, Nathan Gorman claimed the vacant IBF International heavyweight title with a first round stoppage of Tomas Salek.

Gorman (19-1, KO13) had banked two wins since a devastating loss to Daniel Dubois in 2019, the last a five knockdown second round win over Pavel Sour, who Salek (17-4, KO13) outscored over ten to win the Czech title in his last contest.

Gorman made a swift start, and a massive chopping right hand had the visitor on the floor within the first minute. Salek survived, but was decked again by an accumulation of power punches, and as he rose unsteadily, the contest was waved off.

The card saw the return of Josh Kelly (11-1-1, KO7) after the debacle of his opponent pulling out with minutes to go last time out, and ‘PBK’ moved up to super welterweight, and the Sunderland native halted Peter Kramer (12-6-3, KO8) in the fourth of their scheduled ten rounder. Kelly boxed beautifully, and overcame a cut eye in round two, with the fourth seeing him open up, hurting the Hungarian with a left hand before teeing off, and eventually forcing the referee to intervene.

Mason Cartwright (18-3-1, KO7) returned from a close defeat to Troy Williamson for the British title, and ‘Nutty’ went back to winning ways with an eight round points win at super welterweight against Angel Emilov (10-41-1, KO6). The referee scored the contest 80-72.

Tom Farrell returned to winning ways after a defeat in a Boxxer final last time out, but only edged Olaide Fijabi (16-3, KO8) by a solitary point in their super lightweight six rounder (58-57).

Former reality TV personality Aaron Chalmers (1-0, KO0) made his pro boxing debut after a stint in MMA, and he took a four round middleweight win on the cards against Alexander Zeledon (6-29-3, KO0). Chalmers ran out a 39-37 victor.

Heavyweight prospect Matty Harris (3-0, KO2) wasted little time in dealing with Pawel Strykoski (3-18-1, KO0), dropping the Pole twice before the contest was stopped with seconds to go of the opening round.

Ricky Hatton trained Chloe Watson (3-0, KO0) banked six more rounds, as the Birkenhead flyweight took a breathless points win against Fara El Bousairi (5-3, KO2).

Super featherweight Marcus Molloy (5-1, KO1) saw his unbeaten record go, as Gadatamen Taylor (5-10, KO0) took a 58-57 win over six rounds.

Paddy Lacey (6-0, KO1) scored his first stoppage win as a pro, as he dispatched debutant Ryan Broten (0-1) in just over forty seconds of their super welterweight contest. Tom Aitchison (7-0, KO2) remained unbeaten, and the super lightweight inflicted the first stoppage in the career of Ezequiel Gregores (3-12, KO0) in the fifth of their sixth rounder.

John Edwardson (3-0, KO0) took all four rounds of his super featherweight four rounder against Stefan Nicolae (3-34-2, KO1).
