Due to an unexpected food poisoning episode, undefeated jr. welterweight Antonio Orozco (9-0, 6KOs) had to pull out of his scheduled six round bout versus Hensley Strachan on Thursday, April 21st, at the Fight Club OC in Costa Mesa, CA. According to his manager Frank Espinoza, Orozco had a bad batch of tuna which led for him to feel ill on Tuesday evening.
“It’s just a stroke of bad luck. He was ready to go, Antonio had been training very hard for this fight and it’s a shame this happened,” Espinoza said minutes after informing Roy Englebrecht, the promoter of the fight card, of the cancellation. “I am sure he will be better in a couple of days and we’ll work on getting him on a card very soon.”
Espinoza mentioned that more than likely Orozco of San Diego, CA, will be back on another Fight Club OC date in the near future.
