Nobody did any trash talking at the final press conference, instead everyone was friendly, respectful and cordial. All parties, including both fighters, their trainers and promoters expect an exciting, fast-paced fight with both guys giving it their all.
There was a lot of talk about how each man is familiar with the other, is respectful or mindful of what the other brings to the table, and won’t take anything for granted in the bout. Pacquiao talked about giving it his all in training camp and being fully prepared for Saturday night and Marquez ultimately said he does his talking in the ring.
Freddie Roach said that Marquez looks big and strong and ready to go. Indeed, Marquez appeared at the final Pacquiao-Marquez press conference wearing a jump suit. So one has to wonder if even though he’s supposed to be the smaller guy, if he has more weight to cut after putting on so much muscle mass.
Beristain said the fight should be a classic encounter. Bob Arum said these are two sportsmen first, and two warriors second.
