Manny Pacquiao in Car Accident Hours Before Shane Mosley Fight:
According to a report from TMZ, Manny Pacquiao has been in a car accident in Las Vegas this afternoon. The accident was minor and occurred around 3 or 4 pm Eastern today, making it just a handful of hours before the Pacquiao vs. Mosley results and fight tonight.
The official Pacquiao vs. Mosley fight time is set for about 11 pm, while the PPV broadcast itself begins at 9 pm.
Freddie Roach checked out Pacquiao after the accident back at the hotel, and gave him the okay, with no injuries being present. Don’t worry, the fight is still all set, and there isn’t any indication that anything will change. Apparently though, Pacquiao was a bit shaken up by the incident.
Considering that boxers subsist on routine and consistency, this car accident could potentially affect the Pacquiao vs. Mosley results and fight tonight. Pacquiao is also way more superstitious than even most other boxers, so who knows how this is affecting him mentally and whether or not he’s going to be able to gear up as he normally would. Even a small sense of distraction, lack of focus, unease or anything else could throw off Pacquiao’s game plan.
Pacquiao was leaving church with a whole fleet of cars along with him, and apparently one of the security vehicles collided with his own, although the accident caused no major injuries, as mentioned.
Hopefully, this is a small blip and the Pacquiao vs. Mosley fight goes off as planned, on time, and without incident. But in the world of boxing, well, you never know. Check out our live Pacquiao vs. Mosley round by round coverage and results this evening beginning at 9 pm.
