Danish super middleweight talent Patrick Nielsen (25-1, 12 KOs) will face Charles Adamu (23-6, 17 KOs) on Saturday night at the Ballerup Super Arena in Copenhagen. At today’s final press meeting, the 24 year-old southpaw revealed his plans to stop the experienced Ghanaian inside the distance.
‘’Fans are going to see a ferocious Patrick Nielsen in the ring,’’ said the Albertslund-boxer. ‘’I want to deliver a devastating performance and send Adamu crashing to the canvas. I feel like I’ve really settled at the weight and now I’m punching harder than ever. Adamu has my respect but as soon as the bell rings, I’m going for the knockout.’’
Adamu shares Nielsen’s confidence and has travelled to Copenhagen intent on claiming the young Dane’s title. ‘’I’ve come to Denmark to beat Patrick and to take his belt,” said the former Commonwealth Champion. ”I have fought and beat better fighters than him, and on Saturday I will do everything in my power to win.’’
Nielsen’s WBA International title defence headlines an action-packed ‘Danish Dynamite’ event showcasing the country’s top talents. Micki Nielsen (17-0, 12 KOs) takes on experienced cruiserweight contender Ismail Abdoul (56-34-2, 20 KOs), while rising featherweight star Dennis Ceylan (14-0-1, 7 KOs) meets former European Champion Sergio Prado (11-4 -1, 4 KOs).
‘’Abdoul is a tough opponent,’’ said Nielsen. ‘’He has only ever been stopped once, so of course I would like to become the second. That is what I have been working on in the gym and on Saturday I will put the plan into action.’’
”I’ve trained hard and I’m in top shape,” said Ceylan. ”This fight is another step forward for me and a chance to prove I’m ready for the big time!”
Said promoter Nisse Sauerland: ‘’We have an explosive show lined up for Saturday night at the Ballerup Super Arena. Patrick faces a tough test to retain his title against the experienced Adamu, while young guns Micki and Dennis can continue their climb to the top with convincing victories.’’
