After defeating Mike Tyson this past weekend, Jake Paul has once again stated his desire to take on UFC star Conor McGregor – only this time with a twist.

Paul has aimed plenty of jibes at McGregor in the hope of luring him into the ring, though the Irishman has been, for the most part, reluctant to engage in any back and forth.

‘The Problem Child’ was on the receiving end of widespread criticism following his fight with Tyson, who looked a shell of himself at 58 years of age.

Despite the main event not being much of a contest, the show reportedly drew north of 60 million viewers on streaming giant Netflix, making it by far and away the most watched boxing event in recent memory.

And Paul seems to now have a taste for the big names, and took to Twitter to try and goad McGregor into an MMA fight.

“Dear Conor, I know you told my team you would fight me at 170lbs. That’s never happening.

“But let’s run it in MMA. No weight class. Just like how it used to be done. But you won’t.”

‘The Notorious’ was sharp to reply, writing the following  (since deleted) tweet accompanied with a photo of 82-year-old American politician Mitch McConnell.

“Nakisa already rang me, lad, it’s this guy next for you. Good luck pal.”

A Paul-McGregor fight in the boxing ring would not just be a test of skill, but of egos. While McGregor has the superior experience, Paul’s speed, size, and unconventional approach to pugilism could make for an unpredictable outcome.

However, the Dubliner would be a huge favorite if they were to lock horns in the Octagon, despite Paul being the younger and bigger man.

Regardless of who would win, the fight would be a mammoth payday for both fighters, and the build up almost certainly be amongst the most entertaining of all time.
