Jake Paul has shed some light on what was said in the hotly discussed telephone call between himself and Anthony Joshua.
Paul sensationally called Joshua out for a blockbuster clash last month, describing the Watford man as “stiff” and having “no chin.”
And reports soon emerged that the former heavyweight world champion was actually up for taking on the brash YouTuber, who proposed they lock horns in 2026.
Remarkably, it seems like there could be legs to the fight – well, that is if Paul is to be believed.
Speaking in a media scrum following the Katie Taylor Amanda Serrano 3 press conference, ‘The Problem Child’ gave details of what sounds like a positive discussion with Joshua.

“We’re going to plan that for 2026. I talked to Anthony on the phone.
“He called me up and said, ‘I saw you call me out, let’s run it. Let’s make it happen.’
“It’s funny, I have said this before, but boxers don’t like boxing, they don’t want to sign the contract.
A fight between Paul and Joshua will not be next however, as the Ohio native added that his forthcoming opponent will be announced next week.
He also shockingly revealed that, as well as being close to landing a fight with Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez, talks for a showdown with Baltimore star Gervonta Davis fell apart at the final hour.

“But at the end of the day, I’m just going to keep on training.
“We do have an announcement next week, but I’m not going to leak anything because we have had these fights pulled at the one-yard line with Canelo and Gervonta [Davis]. So I’m just not going to jinx it.”

It remains unclear who ‘AJ’, having been out of the ring since a brutal stoppage loss to Daniel Dubois back in September, will be facing next.
Unsurprisingly, the 35-year-old’s preferred option is a long awaited mega fight against Tyson Fury, though this would of course hang on ‘The Gypsy King’ returning from retirement.
