STACKED CARD SET FOR THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 15 AT FANTASY SPRINGS RESORT CASINO; TELEFUTURA TO TELEVISE BOUTS ON “SÓLO BOXEO TECATE”
The fall boxing season kicks into high gear this Friday, October 15, when boxing’s top young talent descends upon Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California for an action-packed card featuring a main event showdown between California standouts Eloy Perez (18-0-2, 5 KO’s) and Dominic Salcido (18-2, 9 KO’s) for the NABO Junior Lightweight Championship.
In the co-main event, which will also be televised on TeleFutura’s “Sólo Boxeo Tecate,” East Los Angeles’ Frankie Gomez (6-0, 6 KO’s) faces his toughest test to date in a six round junior welterweight bout against Las Vegas, Nevada’s Ramon Montano (17-7-2, 2 KO’s).
Also in action will be Paramount’s own Charles Huerta (14-1, 8 KO’s), who plans on extending his three-fight winning streak in an eight round featherweight bout against Brownsville, Texas’ Felipe Cordova (10-1, 4 KO’s). Local southern California and Coachella Valley stars will also shine on when former amateur star Randy Caballero (4-0, 4 KO’s) of Coachella takes on an opponent to be determined in a six round junior featherweight fight and Indio’s Gabino Saenz (1-0, 1 KO) faces Fullerton’s Manuel Ortega (1-3) in a four round featherweight battle.
Explosive heavyweight action will take place when Seth “Mayhem” Mitchell (18-0-1, 12 KO’s) hopes to keep his “0” intact in a ten round contest against New York’s Derrick Brown (13-5-3, 11 KO’s). Also in heavyweight action, 2008 Olympic Bronze medalist Deontay Wilder (11-0, 11 KO’s) puts his perfect record on the line against rugged heavyweight veteran Harold Sconiers (17-20-2, 11 KO’s) in a six round fight.
Perez vs. Salcido, a 10-round NABO Junior Lightweight Championship fight which headlines a night of world-class professional boxing, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate with the main event being presented in association with Thompson Boxing Promotions. Doors open at 6: 00pm PT on fight night, the first bell rings at 7:00pm PT and the TeleFutura broadcast begins at 11:30pm ET / 8:30pm PT (10:30pm CT).
