On Saturday night, Timothy Bradley stopped Brandon Rios in the ninth round of their welterweight title fight at the Thomas and Mack Center, Las Vegas. Rios never got going in the contest and was outboxed by Bradley before succumbing to body shots in the final round. After the fight, Rios stated that he planned to retire.
With his first stoppage win under his belt since his 2011 win over Joel Casamayor, Bradley made a strong start to life under the tutelage of Teddy Atlas.
Showcasing his jab and footwork, Bradley never came under any real duress from Rios before closing the show in style to re-announce himself as one of the finest in the world in the 147 lb division.
Below are all the photos from what was a surprisingly one-sided showdown.
Additionally, we also have video highlights of the Bradley vs. Rios action, as well as the event’s co-feature, which included a dominant showing from Vasyl Lomachenko.
