There’s obviously a great deal to discuss here. The knockout heard round the world, or at least round the Philippines and the boxing community, just changes everything at the top of today’s landscape.

How far does Pacquiao fall with the loss, and how high does Marquez climb? Could he move up as high as number 1 — surpassing the guy that handily defeated him, Floyd Mayweather? Not likely, but perhaps there’s a rematch in order now.

And as for the welterweight division, Marquez needs to be positioned there now, and will be in line for his own share of big fights. If not Mayweather, there’s Timothy Bradley, Amir Khan, Robert Guerrero and all the rest. Or there’s a fifth fight against Manny Pacquiao. So take a look at the top 10 of that division as well to see how it stands right now and what may be in store for the future.

In any event, there’s a ton to consider with our updated pound for pound rankings following the Pacquiao vs. Marquez results. Be sure to take a look and chime in with your own thoughts and comments.
