Regis Prograis insists he is capable of stopping Jack Catterall when the pair clash next month and feels his rival has “no chance” of beating him if he turns up at his best.

Prograis heads to Catterall’s hometown of Manchester for their super lightweight showdown at the Co-op Live, a battle which will be broadcast on DAZN.

The two-time world champion has not fought since shipping his WBC world title to Devin Haney in December, but says defeat has given him added motivation.

“I’m going to go out there and do me,” Prograis told Pro Boxing Fans.

“I’m just getting back to being hungry again.

“When I don’t have the belt, I’m way more hungry and that’s just how I am.

“I feel like once I get the belt again, maybe I just give it up so I don’t be a champion.

“If I do me, I should have no trouble.

“I know Jack is not a better fighter than me.

“No matter what about we going to Manchester, no matter what happens, I just know Jack is not a better fighter than me.

“If I show up, if Regis Prograis shows up, Jack don’t have a chance.”

Catterall fights for the first time since gaining revenge over Josh Taylor in May after losing out on a contentious decision two years prior, the only blemish on his record.

The visitor has notched 24 knockouts from his 29 victories and feels he can add to that impressive record if the opportunity arises against the home favourite.

“If I get a chance it’ll happen,” the 35-year-old added.

“You’ve got to realise I stop people that have never been stopped before.

“I fought [Jose] Zepeda, I stopped him. I fought Tyrone McKenna, I stopped him. I fought [Juan] Heraldez, I stopped him. I fought [Kiryl] Relikh I stopped him.

“You’ve got to look at the résumé.

“I know a lot of people saying because I had two bad fights. I had fights with Devin and [Danielito] Zorrilla, that was two bad fights, but you’ve still got to check my resume.

“Jack’s résumé is not like mine.

“You’ve got to put the résumés next to each other and mine outshines his every day of the week.”
