Fresno California’s welterweight boxer, Marcos Antonio Hernandez (1-0) has recently signed with advisor Al Haymon. With the addition of Haymon on his team, Hernandez will now fight on the undercard of Robert Guerrero vs. Yoshihiro Kamegai this Saturday, June 21 at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.
At age 21, Hernandez stands 6’2 and was born and raised in Fresno California. He had a successful armature career where he won numerous tournaments before turning pro at age 20. Trained by his father Joey Hernandez, Marcos is excited about signing with Al Haymon and fighting on the Guerrero vs. Kamegai undercard.
“My father and I have been working very hard to make a name for ourselves,” said Marcos Hernandez.
“My mentor and good friend coach Peter Lopes is the person responsible for getting me seen by Luis Decubas Jr. and opened the doors to be with Al Haymon. I know with hard work, I can become something special in this sport. I’m looking forward to fighting on Robert Guerrero’s undercard this Saturday.”
“Marcos is a very good kid with a ton of athletic ability.” said mentor Peter Lopes.
“I’ve seen him dunk a basketball, he really moves well for a kid that stands 6’2. He’s tough and he’s hungry as hell. He was sparring with Robert Guerrero for the last few weeks so I know he can hang with the best of them. He learned a lot sparring with Robert and I know he’s going to shine this Saturday.”
