Unbeaten super bantamweight prospect, Mario Barrios (1-0, 1 KO) returns to the ring Monday, February 10th against Manuel Rubalcava (1-6) at the Cowboys Dance Hall, San Antonio, Texas.
Barrios, who was an amateur standout, faces a durable opponent in Rubalcava who’s never been stopped before, after having faced five undefeated opponents. The 18-year old prodigy, who stands 6’0 tall, feels his career is heading in the right direction and plans on shinning come fight night.
“I’m happy to be fighting in my hometown once again,” said Barrios. “I know Rubalcava will be a step up in competition and I’m not taking this fight lightly. He’s went the distance in all his fights so I know he can take a punch. I’m going to put on a great show for all the fans that’ll be in attendance. My game plan is to go out there and dictate the fight.”
“I’m very thankful to everyone on my team, my trainers, managers and family. Since turning pro last November, I feel I’m ready to take the boxing world by storm. With each fight I’m hoping to gain the experience to prepare me for the next level. I’m looking to make an impact in 2014.”
