On Thursday, June 23, Los Angeles’ hit boxing series “Fight Night Club,” returns with another night of exciting boxing action at L.A. LIVE’s Club Nokia as local favorites Ramon Valadez and Jamie Kavanagh compete in separate featured bouts. Valadez will headline the show in a junior lightweight bout while Kavanagh will be in a lightweight co-featured fight, both in six round fights against opponents to be determined.
Popular 21-year-old Ramon Valadez (8-1, 4 KO’s) bounced back from a 1-1 start to his professional career to reel off seven consecutive wins, including four victories so far in 2011. Most recently, the East Los Angeles native made his sixth Club Nokia appearance and kept his hot streak going by scoring a unanimous decision against Rafael Lora. On June 23 he will look to keep his local fans cheering by headlining a “Fight Night Club” event for the first time, and with his track record, all those in attendance rooting for Valadez should leave Club Nokia happy.
Born in Ireland, raised in Spain, and now living in California, Jamie “The Nuisance” Kavanagh (6-0, 2 KO’s) has compiled some pretty serious frequent flyer miles over the years and the former amateur star is now starting to take flight between the ropes as well. He earned four wins in 2010 and has tallied two more in 2011, facing two tough opponents in Ramon Flores on the February edition of “Fight Night Club” and Englishmen Sid Razak on April 16 in Manchester, England. Kavanagh, who is trained by the great Freddie Roach, is looking to further increase his LA-area fan base with another exciting win on June 23.
Opponents for Valadez and Kavanagh along with a full undercard will be announced at a later date.
