At 140 lbs, the question will be who should be number 1 — Matthysse or Danny Garcia? We’ll find out more definitively when these two meet in an upcoming match, hopefully in the very near future.
At 168 lbs, Froch was already considered the number 2 guy behind Andre Ward. Considering the outcome of their fight against one another, he couldn’t reasonably usurp Ward’s status, but nevertheless, there’s movement in the top 10 here with Kessler’s defeat.
At 175 lbs, there’s a lot of things to consider, with fighters moving up and down between there and super middleweight. We’ll learn more about how the division should look after the upcoming Chad Dawson vs. Adonis Stevenson clash.
Finally, at 200 lbs, Jones came out of his semi-retirement to take out Lebedev, considered one of the best fighters in the division. That really shakes up the pecking order at cruiserweight, where you’ll find an intriguing mix of untested, unbeaten fighters, aged veterans and everything in between.
