Former amateur star, Rashidi ‘Speedy’ Ellis ( 8-0, 6 KO’s ) from Lynn, Massachusetts will be in action on Saturday, July, 11 at the Humacao Arena, Puerto Rico.

The undefeated welterweight prospect, who is managed by Troya Boxing Management, and trained by Alex Rivera at the Somerville Boxing Club, will be facing experienced Mexican, Guillermo Ibarra ( 11-5, 7 KO ) in a 6 round bout.

“Training camp has been great with my trainer Alex Rivera. In the sparring sessions, Kevin Cobbs is helping me out with Jelame García and WBO champion Demetrius Andrade. Expect to see an exciting and interesting fight from a young prospect against a tough Mexican warrior” – said Rashidi Ellis.

Ellis ended up with a record of 60-11 in amateur record, which included winning a 2012 National PAL Championship, and becoming a three-time New England Golden Gloves Champion.

Edwin Diaz from Troya Boxing Management said; “This young fighter is trusting the guidance of his career in the hands of two Puerto Ricans, his trainer, Alex Rivera and I. Hopefully sooner or later, he will be on top of the boxing world. His talent will speak for himself.”

The event is promoted by Miguel Cotto Promotions in association with Top Rank.
