The highly anticipated undisputed clash between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol ended in controversial fashion on Saturday night. Beterbiev won via majority decision with judges awarding scorecards of 114-114, 115-113, 116-112 in his favour.
Bivol arguably dominated the opening third of the fight with Beterbiev ending the fight the stronger, despite having never gone the distance in his professional career.
Speaking straight after the fight, Dimitry Bivol’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, told our reporter “I haven’t found anyone that scored it for Beterbiev. Then you hear 116-112. How can you give Dmitry Bivol 4 rounds in that fight? It’s no disrespect to Artur Beterbiev. (Turki Said) bad decision, we’ll do a rematch.”
