RESULTS FROM FRIDAY’S “SÓLO BOXEO TECATE”FROM MENDOZA, ARGENTINA:
An explosive eight-bout card presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Arano Box Producciones from the Polideportivo Vicente Polimeni heated up an already hot summer night in Mendoza, Argentina. Tonight’s event was televised on HBO Plus in Latin America and on TeleFutura’s “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” in the United States. If you missed the live action or televised broadcast, below is a summary of the results:
Winner | Loser | Method | Round |
Lucas Matthysse | DeMarcus Corley | TKO | 8 |
Claudio Tapia | Pablo Barboza | TKO | 4 |
Guillermo Suarez | Carlos Araya | TKO | 4 |
Gaston Bustamante | Marcos Serro | UD | 4 |
Juan Carlos Reveco | Miguel Tellez | UD | 10 |

Of course, the most notable results from the card involved the headline bout, which featured Lucas Matthysse taking on DeMarcus Corley. Corley, at this stage of his career, is a gatekeeper, and he has been stopped on many occasions, although Marcos Maidana was not able to recently. Lucas Matthysse got the job done though with his own firepower, winning by 8th round TKO.
Don’t miss the pugilistic excitement next Friday, January 28 from San Diego, Calif. as “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” returns to the Four Points Sheraton with an exciting clash of junior featherweight prospects with Paramount’s Charles Huerta meeting up with unbeaten Raul Hirales Jr. in the eight round main event and undefeated featherweight phenom Gary Russell Jr. facing an opponent to be determined in an eight round co-featured bout. Tune in at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT (10:30 p.m. CT) on TeleFutura.
