The “Nordic Nightmare” Robert Helenius (17-0, 11 KOs) and Sherman “The Tank” Williams (35-11-2, 19 KOs) caught up with the Finnish media today in Helsinki. The two heavyweights, who will headline the November 10 Nordic Fight Night at Helsingin Jäähalli, came face to face – but only via a live video conference.
The fight marks the return of Helenius, who has been out of action for quite some time, and is eager to rebuild the momentum he had in his career at this point last year.
“It’s 4.30 am here in Florida, I will just start my morning exercise a little earlier than usual,” Williams said. “I look forward to coming to Finland. I will bring some sunshine to Helsinki. I have a special punch, the Conch Punch, an overhead right, and the Tank will catch Robert with that shot. That is my special weapon which will help me to win this fight.”
Helenius was unimpressed: “Well, he can try, but I don’t think he has a chance. I am not a big trash-talker. All I know is that I will be ready for the Tank. My shoulder has healed very well, my other arm has gotten much stronger now, so I will do damage with both hands. It’s great to make my comeback fight in Finland.”
Williams was represented on the podium – by a little plastic tank. “I am 100 percent sure that Robert will crush the Tank on November 10,” promoter Nisse Sauerland said.
“He is one of the best heavyweights in the world and he will make a spectacular comeback. Williams is a tough opponent, very experienced and very solid, but Robert’s right hand will eventually break him down.”
