MTK promoted at the Brentwood Centre and it saw several hot prospects in action.
At the top of the bill, Danny Dignum kept hold of his WBO European Middleweight belt with an impressive ninth round stoppage of Alfredo Meli, who gave it everything in a valiant defeat.
It was Dignum’s second consecutive victory over an Irish opponent after stopping Conrad Cummings last time out and he dropped the brave Meli three times, with body shots proving ‘Fredo’s’ undoing.
Sam Gilley came of age and claimed the vacant Southern Area Welterweight title in a thriller against Curtis Felix Junior.
Gilley scored a knockdown on the way to a 96-93 win.
Birmingham’s Kaisee Benjamin upset Shaquille Day, and took the former Southern Area champion’s unbeaten record with a deserved 97-94 win for referee Lee Cook.
Steven Connolly warmed up for his mouthwatering clash with Troy Williamson with an appearance on the card. The former Ultimate Boxxer winner stopped Pavel Albrecht in three rounds.
James Hawley came out on top in the battle of unbeatens, as he outscored Josh Adewale 58-56 over six entertaining rounds.
Mitchell Frearson was also in the winners’ enclosure, as he chalked up a 58-56 win on the referee’s scorecard against Angel Elimov.
