Highly regarded undefeated lightweight prospect Ryan “Blue Chip” Martin (9-0) will be fighting this Friday night in a non-televised 6 round fight at Grand Plaza Ballroom in Toledo, OH presented by RISE Boxing 2. Martin, a Chattanooga native who now fights out of Cleveland, OH, will take on Mexico’s Edgar LLanes (13-6 8ko’s).

Less than a month ago he was victorious over Mexican invader Martin “Marciano” Cardona (17-3 12ko’s) in a November 8th bout at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ.

“I’m content with where I’m at for 2014. I know we had a great year, but I’m confident 2015 will bring more excitement. I wanted to get comfortable with the transition from amateur to pro. I feel I’ve accomplished that. Now it’s time to show the division there’s a new face in the sport; I’m one step closer to proving that on Friday,” Martin said.

Martin has been fighting since the age of 8. A self-described boxer-puncher with speed clearly being his greatest attribute, Martin excelled and received numerous national titles as an amateur. A gold medal at the prestigious U.S. Under-19 Tournament was one of the highlights of his amateur career.

He is currently promoted by 50 Cent’s SMS Promotions.

Toledo based fighter, Sonny Fredrickson (5-0, 5Ko’s) will headline the night of fights in a six round bout as he takes on Houston’s Darryl Yayes (3-3). Doors open at 6:30pm and the first bell will ring promptly at 8:00PM. Tickets are priced reasonably at $50 1st row, $40 2nd row and $25 general admission, and are available at www.risefights.net.
