Ali Throws Out First Pitch at Brooklyn Cyclones Game

A product of Brooklyn’s tough Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, junior welterweight Sadam Ali will put his perfect 8-0 record on the line when he steps into the ring at Newark’s Prudential Center for the third time on August 21st. In an eight-round welterweight bout, Ali (8-0, 4 KOs) will fight Costa Rica’s, Lenin Arroyo (20-12-1, 4 KOs). This fight will be shown on the PPV telecast.

Sadam Ali looked great in his last fight, blowing out a walk-in styled, non-puncher in Julias Edmonds. This time he goes in with Arroyo, a 33-fight veteran who just a year ago, went the limit with hard-hitting, unbeaten, Mike Jones and then with James De La Rosa, also an unbeaten welterweight prospect.

Ali, the first Arab-American boxer ever to represent Team USA at the Olympics, is an avid sports fan. This Wednesday, he will throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Brooklyn Cyclones vs. Staten Island game at MCU Park, 1904 Surf Ave. at W. 17th St, 7pm. The Cyclones are the single A affiliate of the New York Mets.
