Team Sauerland today won the purse bid to stage the European Featherweight title fight between Dennis Ceylan (17-0-1, 8 KOs) and Ryan Walsh (21-1-1, 10 KOs).
With a bid of €60,305, Team Sauerland saw off competition from Double A Promotion, who bid €60,000 (about $66,000). The European title fight will now take place in Denmark at a date and venue to be confirmed.
‘’I’m very happy that this fight is going to happen in Denmark,’’ said Ceylan. ‘’It is what the fans deserve, and with their support, I’m sure I can become European Champion. It is going to be a great fight. Ryan Walsh is a good opponent, he is very strong so I will need to be careful not to get caught by too many punches, but I’m confident in my own ability and I know I have what it takes to win.’’
‘’We’re delighted to have won the purse bids and secured Dennis home advantage,’’ says promoter Nisse Sauerland. ‘’Dennis and the Danish fans can now look forward to an exciting European title contest on home soil. We will be an announcing a date and a venue for the fight in the coming weeks.’’
