Former Chris Eubank Jr opponent Billy Joe Saunders has weighed in with his prediction for his upcoming fight against Conor Benn.
Eubank Jr, who locked horns with Saunders for the British middleweight title all the way back in 2014, will take on Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26.
The pair almost came to blows at a press conference in Manchester last month, after ‘Next Gen’ slapped his younger adversary in the face with an egg.
Many observers seem to believe Eubank is winning the battle of the mind games up to this point – however Saunders does not believe that will transfer to the ring.
Speaking to BoxNation, the former two-weight world champion revealed he believes Benn will knock his old foe out in just over a month’s time.

“As of late he’s looked a little bit old should we say, and don’t forget Eubank’s not the kind of boxer to get behind his jab, get a nice lead, use his footwork.
“He’s been in some scraps and he’s been in some good scraps with not the best opponents, but they’ve still given him some good work.
“I just think if Conor catches him clean and can follow up on one of them good shots, sort of like a Liam Smith shot, I think Conor Benn knocks him out.”
Though ‘BJS’ and Eubank Jr locked horns over a decade ago, there is still plenty of animosity between them and a rematch has long been discussed.
However, the Hertfordshire man has not boxed since being stopped by Canelo Alvarez back in 2021 and despite a return to the ring being teased on several occasions, it looks unlikely at this stage.
Eubank Jr was fined £100,000 by the British Boxing Board of Control for striking Benn with an egg, though this is pocket change in comparison to the reported eight-figure payday he is set to receive for the bout.

The 35-year-old is also the betting favourite, with ‘The Destroyer’ jumping up a weight class to middleweight for the fight, having fought his last two contests at 154lbs.
That said, both men must weigh in at no more than 170lbs on the morning of the contest, which some pundits believe may deplete the Brighton man.
