WBA Interim Super Bantamweight champion Guillermo ‘El Chacal’ Rigondeaux (8-0, 6 KOs), arguably the greatest amateur boxer of all time, retained his world title March 19 by beating previously undefeated hometown favorite and former European champion, Willie ‘Big Bang” Casey (11-0, 7 KOs), in Dublin. Take a look at Rigo’s” money punch – left hook to the liver- that started the end for Casey.
While it was easy to see that Rigondeaux was by far the more skilled fighter in the contest against Willie Casey, a 1 round blowout look he had is always impressive. The body punch here began the onslaught that brought an early close to the evening, and a disappointing one for Casey’s hometown fans.
The Jackal now is in great place in the super bantamweight division to land a major fight against one of the other big names, and there’s no telling the damage he can do if he combines his skill with the level of passion and aggression he showed against Casey.
