Shane Mosley is continuing his journey through the Sweet Science, and will travel all the way to Australia to do so, as he’ll meet Anthony Mundine on October 23 in Sydney, Australia.
Mosley is coming off a win over Pablo Cesar Cano, ending a long stretch of subpar performances and bad, lopsided losses, including bouts against Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, with only an ugly draw against Sergio Mora sandwiched in between those setbacks.
Mundine is coming off a loss to Daniel Geale, in a rematch of their first bout years before. He had won four straight leading up to that, since a surprising loss to the little known, inexperienced Garth Wood.
5 Time 3 Division World Champion, ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley (47-8-1, 39KO’s) and 3 Time World Champion Anthony ‘The Man’ Mundine (44-5, 26KO’s) will meet in a clash scheduled for October 23 in Australia. The fight is promoted by Millennium Events in association with Golden Boy Promotions.
Mosley obviously feels reinvigorated after defeating Cano, but certainly most fans would simply prefer to see him step away from the sport at this point, as opposed to continue fighting well past his best, at the age of 42, and after taking some real punishment in a few of his previous defeats.
