Sportsmen’s Lodge main event pitted Former US 2008 Olympian Shawn Estrada (15-0. 13KO’s) against Felix Pieda (9-1-1, 6KO’s) in a scheduled 8 round Light Heavyweight bout. Early in the first round Estrada’s dominance was apparent. In the second round Estrada forced the action and dropped Pierda at the 1:23 mark. Referee Jack Rees had seen enough to call the stoppage. Right here, find the complete results from the card, as well as video interviews with Estrada and young, undefeated pro Jessie Villanueva.
Jessie Villanueva (5-0, 3 KO’s) went up against a gritty, hard punching Benjamin Briceno (Pro Debut) for four tough rounds. Villanuena’s body attack kept Briceno at bay allowing for a fourth round victory.
Said Estrada:
“I’ve learned a lot from Joe Goossen he’s my new trainer, he knows all the tricks of the trade, he knows all of them. He’s a good trainer and we’re going to go a long why from here.”
“I really try and hurt my guy. That’s what I want to do, I don’t just want to win, I want to hurt you. That what I come to do.”
