As part of the ongoing 30th Anniversary celebration of Showtime Championship Boxing, relive two of the final events in Floyd Mayweather’s 19-year career, prior to his inevitable comeback, tonight at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime Extreme.
The two fights being shown are the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao mega-fight, derided as one of the worst big fights ever, and Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana I, which was an easy win for Mayweather but for some reason lead to a totally unnecessary rematch anyway.
All of that is much better of course than what would be a total waste of time with a cross-sport fight against Conor McGregor. Both were also better than Mayweather’s most recent and supposedly final fight, against Andre Berto.
This week’s lineup of “Throwback Thursday” kicks off with the record-shattering “Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao,” followed by “INSIDE MAYWEATHER vs. PACQUIAO Epilogue,” “THE MOMENT: Mayweather vs. Maidana” and “ALL ACCESS: Mayweather vs. Maidana Epilogue.”
