Solo Boxeo Results: Perez KOs Escalante in 1 Round!

Northern California fight fans were thrilled by another night of action-packed bouts as Golden Boy Promotions and Don Chargin Productions presented an explosive six-fight card at the Sports Center in Fairfield.  Tonight’s fights were televised on TeleFutura’s “Sólo Boxeo Tecate,” but if you missed the broadcast or the live action, below is a summary of the results:

The main event also proved to be the shocker of the evening. Antonio Escalante was the headliner, and he was facing Alejandro Perez, an up and down prospect who had recently lost a decision to Rico Ramos, and had also split a close two-fight series with journeyman Adolfo Landeros.

Escalante got pinned against the ropes and put down, although it was called a slip. He came back with some of his own strong offensive attacks, but got against the ropes again and was crushed by a right hand before he was implanted on the canvas and the referee called off the action at 2:57 of round 1. A shocking way for Escalante to go out in a fight that was supposed to be a rebound opportunity for him after he lost by early knockout to Daniel Ponce de Leon last Septemner.

Don’t miss the action next Friday, April 1 as “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” returns to the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California to feature an exciting Puerto Rico vs. Mexico rivalry fight with the rematch of Eric Morel vs. Martin Castillo in a 10 round junior featherweight main event and in the co-featured bout, Coachella’s own Randy Caballero faces San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Felix Perez in a six round junior featherweight bout.  Tune in at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT (10:30 p.m. CT) on TeleFutura.
