The fighting Irish brothers Stevie and Aaron McKenna both return to action this Friday December 11 as they look to stay active ahead of possible world title shots in 2021.
Aaron McKenna will be making his UK debut whilst it will be Stevie’s second outing on a Hennessy Sports show.
It will be the first time the siblings have fought on the same show as professionals and they have Golden Boy Promotions to thank as they have worked with Mick Hennessy to get Aaron on the show.
In this exclusive interview with proboxing-fans.com Aaron revealed he had hoped to have had five fights throughout 2020 but regardless of the inactivity ‘The Silencer’ is still targeting world champion, Patrick Teixeira.
“Once I get back to America next year I think I will be ready to take on the world champion at 154, Patrick Teixeira, who’s also with Golden Boy [Promotions].”
Stevie McKenna also has lofty ambitions himself. ‘Hitman’ McKenna thus far in his career has been showing exactly why he earned his nickname after stopping all five of his professional opponents with only one man hearing the bell to start the second round.
‘Hitman’ opened up on his sparring session with Ryan Garcia, who takes on Luke Campbell January 2.
“We were meant to do six rounds of sparring but he jumped out [of the ring] after four rounds and he didn’t want any more of it!
“I’d love to get a fight with him, I’d fight him in the morning and I’ve no doubts I’d knock him out!”
