Josh Taylor admits he is keen for a second crack at Teofimo Lopez and believes he is capable of reversing the result.
Lopez ripped away Taylor’s WBO super lightweight world title with a dominant unanimous decision victory in New York in June.
The 33-year-old, former undisputed 140lb champion suffered a first professional defeat against the American and has named Lopez as well as Jack Catterall, who he controversially beat in February 2022, as his preferred opponents.
“In my opinion he is the No 1 now in the 140lb division,” Taylor told Sky Sports.
“He beat Lomachenko. Then he beat me who was undisputed.
”I’d love to correct that wrong and box him again.
“I would love to fight him. There’s the big one, the obvious one [Catterall] that I’d like to do as well.
“I’ll fight anybody.”
Lopez is expected to make a first defence of his WBO crown against Jamaine Ortiz in Las Vegas next month, with ESPN reporting last month that the pair were in the process of finalising a deal.
Taylor has not fought since losing to the 26-year-old and believes he would put in a vastly improved display if the pair ever crossed paths again.
“I took the fight, I felt great, great camp, made the weight well, just wasn’t good enough on the night, that’s all,” the Scot added.
“But I do firmly believe, me at my best, I win that fight all day.
“I’ve got that self-belief and that self-confidence. I firmly believe that me at my best and performing at my best [against] Teofimo Lopez, I win that fight. Without a doubt.
“I still took quite a lot of confidence from that fight. I still felt I won five of the 12 rounds.

“But I went out in the 11th and legs gone.
“I just battled on. You never know, you’ve always got that puncher’s chance.
“It wasn’t to be but I took a lot of confidence from it. I still did okay for the level of preparation that I could do.”
