“The Irish Outlaw” Ryan Coyne Wants the Big Names in the Cruiserweight Division

Undefeated WBC USNBC champion Ryan “The Irish Outlaw” Coyne (16-0 6 KOs) put the cruiser weight division on notice following his knockout of Shane Steele (7-3, 5KOs) in his hometown of St. Louis, MO. The knock out came at the :25 mark of the 2nd round. After dropping Steele in the first round, the twenty-eight year old Coyne finished his opponent off after landing three thunderous left hooks to the body. Steele was badly hurt and was unable to lift himself off the canvas to beat the count.  The scheduled ten round bout was Coyne’s first defense of the title he captured last August over previously undefeated Warren Bowning via 9th round KO.

“The Irish Outlaw” wants to let the cruiser weight division know he is ready for all comers. “I will fight anybody out there. This was a stay busy fight and I did what I had to do and I took care of business.”.

Coyne is looking to face a top 20 challenger in his next fight. “The Irish Outlaw” will next appear in the ring on the Devon Alexander-Tim Bradley under card on January 29th.

“I want to step up my level of competition on Devon’s (Alexander) under card,” Coyne stated minutes after his victory. “Let’s see who wants to step up and fight me on January 29th. Anybody who wants it, can get it.”

It is rumored that the Alexander-Bradley unification title bout will be held in Miami, FL.
