DIRECTV will take action to subscribers with the latest edition of “Night of Champions DIRECTV” next Saturday, April 6. One of the most exciting fights of the card, being held at the Coliseo Guillermo Angulo Carolina, will be Puerto Rican Thomas Dulorme facing the dangerous African Ben Ankrah.
Javier Bustillo, president of Universal Promotion, said: “We are back in Carolina, with great fights from start to finish. Dulorme’s rival had changed, but Ankrah is stronger and is very motivated.”
Dulorme (17-1, 13 KO’s) is ranked number eight by the WBC at 140 pounds. Ankrah (17-12, 8 KO’s) has lasted the distance in exciting fights against former world title contenders Mike Arnaoutis, Patrick Allotey (27-0, 21 KO), and the renewed Antwone Smith.
Jose Bonilla, Thomas Dulorme’s trainer, said: “I am very grateful for this event in Carolina because there is a lots of talent here and it is good that the boys continue to have television exposure. Dulorme is ready, officially campaigning at 140 pounds, where Dulorme will soon be a world champion. We were training for Ivan Hernandez, but this was changed and we understand that Ankrah is stronger and dangerous.”
“Thanks to DIRECTV, Embassy Suites and Universal Promotions for this boxing card. We have done a great job. We are working on this new opponent, focused on what we do in the ring and are fully aware with the type of rival we have for this Saturday. I’m ready to fight and to make a statement by knocking him out. I have big plans,” said a motivated Dulorme, who is promoted by Universal Promotions, Gary Shaw Productions and DiBella Entertainment.
“I am fighting in Puerto Rico for the first time. I am well trained and the big fish will eat the little fish in front of his people,” Ankrah said.
“Noche de Campeones DIRECTV” will also feature Puerto Rico’s only super middleweight titlist, Manuel “Manny” Siaca (24-7, 20 KO), who will face Colombian Milton Nunez at 160 pounds in a bout scheduled for eight rounds.
“Thank you for the opportunity Mr. Bustillo, I’m ready, you know my background, I have no fear of fighting anybody. I’m tested, I’ve fought the best and I’m ready for whatever may happened in the fight,” said Siaca.
On the undercard, former Olympian Enrique “Kikin” Collazo (0-0-1) will face Michael Suarez (0-1) in a four-round middleweight contest.
“We have prepared one hundred percent. I have the talent and dedication to be a world champion. You can expect a different fighter in comparison to my amateur days because we have prepared very well, and this victory is for my family,” said Collazo.
