Junior welterweight Thomas Dulorme (20-1, 14 KO’s) from Puerto Rico has just started his training camp in Oxnard , California, under the command of trainer Robert Garcia.
“I needed to see a change in my workouts, learn new things, but I want to make clear that my former trainer José Bonilla, will always be a part of my team because I am very grateful for what he has done for me in my career, as a trainer and currently as a manager,” said Dulorme , who is also managed by Enrique Román .
About his new trainer, Dulorme commented, “Garcia has a extensive world class experience. I’ll be grabbing like a sponge all of his knowledge, and let me not forget about the great quality sparring partners that are here.”
Robert García trains world-class fighters such as: Marcos Maidana, Nonito Donaire , Mikey Garcia, Brandon Rios, among others, in one of the deepest gyms and camps in the sport.
Dulorme may add Alex Ariza to the team as well.
“Ariza and Garcia are together a great compliment, a great team, and I am in the process of choosing Strength and Conditioning Coach to fill my expectations,” said 24 years old Dulorme.
Dulorme is expected to return to the ring for the month of April.
“My promoter Gary Shaw told me that more likely I’m fighting in April, and I just want the bell to ring so I can bring another victory to my people of Puerto Rico that are in my heart even though I’m here in California ,” concluded Dulorme, who in 2011 was chosen by ESPN as the second best prospect in the world.
At the junior welterweight division, Dulorme is ranked #3 at the WBA, #5 at the IBF, #7 at the WBC and #14 at the WBO.
