It’s boxing award season, and here at ProBoxing-Fans.com we’ve been handing out the hardware all week long. Well, Top Rank would like us to consider some of their best fights from their top fighters for the 2011 Fight of the Year award for boxing. Nonito Donaire’s KO2 of Fernando Montiel already brought home the 2011 Knockout of the Year. Was the performance good enough to warrant Fight of the Year consideration as well?
At super bantamweight, Jorge Arce upset Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. in a thrilling, seesaw affair. It was enough to give Arce consideration for comeback of the year, and this fight has to be a finalist as the best of the year.
The biggest upset in boxing for 2011 occurred when Orlando Salido shocked Juan Manuel Lopez, stopping him in the 8th round. Here are the highlights:
