Tim Tszyu returns to Australia after making a US debut last year, and he contests the interim WBO super welterweight title against former WBC champion, Tony Harrison in what is a tough test at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

Tszyu vs Harrison is live on SHOWTIME in the USA, with a UK broadcaster yet to be announced.

Tszyu (21-0, KO15) is the son of the legend Kostya, and he was originally set to take on Jermell Charlo for the undisputed title earlier this year, but the champion broke his left hand.

The 28-year-old has been climbing the WBO rankings, and after a clear points win against Takeshi Inoue in November 2021, he travelled to Minneapolis, climbing off the canvas to take a tougher-than-expected points win against Terrell Gausha last March.

Harrison (29-3-1, 21 KOs) is certainly no walkover, having won the WBC belt in December 2018 by outpointing the aforementioned Charlo, before being knocked out in the penultimate round of an immediate rematch.

A surprise draw against Bryant Perrella followed, but the Detroit native rebounded last April, widely outscoring the dangerous Sergio Garcia over ten to take the vacant WBC Silver title.

Prediction: This is a dangerous assignment for Tszyu, and he will need to be switched on throughout to take victory. If he can survive some rocky early moments, I think he can come through on points to stay in the world title hunt.

Goodman tackles Doheny

New South Wales prospect, Sam Goodman steps up in class, and he defends his IBF Intercontinental and WBO Oriental super bantamweight titles against the faded former world champion, TJ Doheny.

Goodman (13-0, 7 KOs) last appeared in October, dominating in a ten round points win against Jason Cooper, while Doheny (23-3, 17 KOs) flirted with retirement after three losses in four fights from 2019 to 2021.

The Irishman did return after defeat to Michael Conlan by stopping Cesar Juarez in two in Dubai last March.

Prediction: Goodman can take a points win over ten rounds here.

Remaining Undercard

Koen Mazoudier (11-2, 4 KOs) defends his WBA Oceana super welterweight title for a second time, but I favour Ben Mahoney (13-0, 7 KOs) to take his belt on the scorecards.

2020 Olympian, Paulo Aokuso (3-0, 3 KOs) can claim the vacant IBO Inter-Continental light heavyweight title with a fourth straight stoppage win, this time against Yunieski Gonzalez (21-5, 17 KOs), who has been in with the likes of Gilberto Ramirez and Andre Dirrell in his last two contests.

Isaac Hardman (13-1, 11 KOs) should take the vacant IBF Australasian super middleweight title with a stoppage win against Rohan Murdock (26-2, 19 KOs).

Tim Tszyu’s brother, Nikita Tszyu (4-0, 3 KOs) also appears, and the super welterweight can win early in his six round shootout against Bo Belbin (7-0, 5 KOs).

Featherweight prospect, Courtney Martin (1-0, 1 KO) can outscore Shanell Dargan (1-1-2) over four rounds.
