Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will settle their grudge in a heavyweight world title trilogy bout in Las Vegas this Saturday night.

Fury and Wilder are set to clash at the T-Mobile Arena in the most significant heavyweight trilogy fight since Evander Holyfield and Riddick Bowe met for a third time just down the strip at Caesars Palace, almost 26 years ago.

The pair have already shared almost 19 rounds together after two previous battles which will live long in the memory for so many reasons.

Fury dominated much of the first fight, despite being dropped twice including a final round knockdown which he defied belief in rising from the canvas, earning a controversial split decision draw.

Both men registered two victories prior to meeting in a highly-anticipated rematch in February 2020, which the ‘Gypsy King’ won decisively in seven rounds to rip away the WBC belt and become two-time heavyweight world champion, using the aggressive Kronk style implemented by trainer SugarHill Steward.

A contracted third bout failed to materialise, as the COVID-19 pandemic amongst other factors eliminated that possibility.

Fury then appeared on the brink of securing an unprecedented, all-British undisputed title battle with then-unified champion, Anthony Joshua for August 14 in Saudi Arabia, however an arbitrator ordered the 33-year-old to face Wilder for a third time.

A July 24 date was postponed weeks after the pair met at a press conference in Los Angeles, after Fury contracted COVID-19.

Fury has now seen the riches of a future clash with Joshua all-but evaporate after the Watford man was dethroned by Oleksandr Usyk last month.

Wilder has since added former foe and long-time friend, Malik Scott to his team as head trainer and has retained Jay Deas after sacking Mark Breland, who threw in the towel in the seventh round of the rematch.

Victory for either man is likely to lead to a mandatory defence against WBC interim titlist, Dillian Whyte providing he is successful against Otto Wallin on October 30.

Fury vs Wilder III – What Has Been Said?

“It’s no secret what I’m gonna do,” Fury told talkSPORT.

“I’m just gonna go out there and blitz him.

“There’s gonna be no stopping me on the night. The only thing that’s gonna stop me is getting knocked spark out.

“But apart from that, I’m gonna annihilate him. That’s all I’m thinking about.

“I’m literally gonna set about him.”

“Well you know I have already knocked Tyson Fury out once before,” Wilder told BT Sport.

“I am sure he replays that in his head over and over again, that is why he is so brave to say I am the most dangerous man in the world because I am and its true facts.”

“And when you have devastating power you will always be the leader of the pack, everyone goes on about skills but it is a broken record, we have seen so many people with skills and they have lost.

“When you have power you are never out of a fight, but when it boils down to it it is the difference and it can get you out of many different things like people have seen in my career several times.”
