Mike Tyson is deep in preparation for his shock return bout against Jake Paul on November 15.
However, when Tyson is not in training camp, he’s been a regular fixture at the boxing’s biggest events, supporting the next generation of fighters looking to emulate his extraordinary success.
‘Iron Mike’ has been a big backer of current WBC interim light heavyweight champion, David Benavidez, who he coined with the nickname ‘The Mexican Monster’ and has also been an advocate of WBA lightweight titlist, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.
Appearing on an episode of Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru and Henry, Tyson named his current top five fighters to watch.
“Benavidez, Tank,” the 58-year-old said.
“Shakur [Stevenson] when he’s got that kind of guy, like if Tank was fighting him, something like that.
“Who else? Of course [Terence] Bud Crawford.
“I like [Errol] Spence too. I think Spence could come back and still get his title back, I really think so.
“I think Spence is an underrated fighter.”
The former undisputed heavyweight champion will step into a professional ring for the first time since 2005, when he was sent into retirement by Kevin McBride.
Tyson was last seen in a ring in 2020 when he fought to a draw in an exhibition clash with Roy Jones Jr in Los Angeles.
The Brooklyn man is 31 years Paul’s senior and ‘The Problem Child’ who has won 10 of his 11 professional contests, is the bookies favourite heading into next Friday’s eight-round showdown at the AT&T Stadium.

Tyson insists he won’t shy away from the Cleveland man and has vowed to meet him head on.
“I’m going straight through him,” he added.
“He won’t have to find me.
“All the running I’m going to be doing is right at him.
“He ain’t got to worry about fighting me.”
