Mike Tyson has given a frank opinion on how he would have fared if he had faced Anthony Joshua in his prime years.
Tyson dominated the heavyweight division in the late 1980s, becoming undisputed champion of the world at the age of just 20, whilst Joshua first became at 26-years-old.
Although Joshua is yet to match ‘Iron Mike’s status as undisputed, he has without doubt been one of the top heavyweights of his generation and could still go on to bolster his legacy.
However, the Brookyln native was of little doubt as to how a fight between him and ‘AJ’ would have played out.
Speaking on his podcast, Tyson stated he’d also have beaten Joshua’s countryman and long-time rival Tyson Fury.

“Hey, I really like him. You know what he is? He’s really a breath of fresh air.
“He’s really clean, he really looks clean, he’s a clean guy, he’s a clean fighter, he’s a good puncher. You just wish the best for him.
“I don’t know. My ego says, ‘nobody would beat you’ – but you look at him and… he just looks beautiful.
“He just looks like a fighter, you know? He looks like he was born to do what he has to do. He needs more experience of course, but that will come in life.”
“Yes. Listen, if you’re asking me if I was 20 years old, then yes, there’s no doubt.
“They [Joshua and Fury] are really good fighters and I respect all these skills. It would have been very tough fighting them.”
Tyson was actually due to return to the ring next weekend, however his polarising clash with influencer Jake Paul was postponed after the 57-year-old suffered an ulcer flare up, with Paul now facing Mike Perry in Tampa.
The pair are now scheduled to lock horns on November 15th, though there are still many who are sceptical that the fight will go ahead.
As for Joshua, he looks to become a three-time heavyweight world champion when he takes on compatriot Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on September 21st.
