On Saturday, September 20, “International Fight Night” returns to Queens, New York at the Resorts World Casino New York City.
Frank Galarza of Brooklyn, New York, 14-0-2 (9 KO’s) is scheduled to be in the main event against an opponent to be named shortly. Galarza, who has been featured twice this year on Showtime’s ShoBox series, has impressed boxing fans with his boxing skills and all action style.
In September 2013, Galarza won the vacant New York State light middleweight title by stopping the previously undefeated Rich Neves (6-0-1) of Garden City, New York. In January 2014, Galarza captured the interim WBC Latino light middleweight title in a stunning second round knockout that was broadcast nationwide on ShoBox, over previously unbeaten John Thompson (14-0-1) of Newark, New Jersey.
In a recent interview with Galarza about his upcoming bout, Galarza stated “I am happy to be chosen as the main event. The casino is like my home and I appreciate the opportunity to fight in front of my local fan base. I want to thank my promoters, my manager and most of all, my fans, for always coming out to show their support.” Galarza is managed by AJ Galante and promoted by New Legend Boxing and DiBella Entertainment.
The event will showcase a host of local up and coming prospects from the New York metropolitan area. Professional boxers, who hail from the United States, Ireland, Guyana, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico, to name a few, will be featured in an action packed, ten bout card, dubbed “International Fight Night”.
