This Saturday night, New Legend Boxing and DiBella Entertainment will host International Fight Night, live from the beautiful Resorts World Casino New York City, in Queens, NY. Headlining the card, in his DBE debut, will be world-rated cruiserweight contender (WBC #13) Alex Guerrero (12-0-1, 6KO’s) putting his undefeated record on the line against once-beaten Brian Howard (10-1, 8KO’s) in the 10-round feature bout of the evening.
Also making his DBE debut on the card will be undefeated middleweight prospect Steve Rolls (11-0, 6KO’s) as he takes on Tyi Edmonds (5-2, 3KO’s) in an eight-round middleweight matchup. The Canadian-native Rolls had a very successful amateur career, competing on both the 2009 and 2010 Canadian National boxing team, compiling an impressive 83-14 record in the process.
Looking to make it a perfect 4-0 in 2015 will be the Bronx’s Chris Galeano (8-0) as he squares off against hard-hitting Colby Courter (8-6, 7KO’s). The undefeated 22-year-old prospect Galeano won nearly every major competition during his amateur career, closing out his campaign career by winning the 2013 NY Golden Gloves and 2013 165-pound USA National Championship, propelling him to a #1-ranking in the US. The soon-to-be college graduate Galeano has shown steady improvement with each outing and will be looking to impress when he takes on Courter in their six-round middleweight showdown.
Fellow NY Golden Gloves champion Wesley Ferrer (9-0, 5KO’s) will look to move into double-digit victories when he takes on Luis Rodriguez in their six-round lightweight matchup. The Brooklynite Ferrer was an outstanding amateur. In addition to winning the 2013 New York City Golden Gloves championship and competing at the National Golden Gloves, Ferrer was the 2012 New York Amateur Boxing and New York City Metro Tournament champion and 2009 Golden Gloves champion. Ferrer is quickly becoming one of the more popular up-and-coming prospects throughout the NYC area, and a raucous crowd is expected to once again be on hand come Saturday night.
Fast-rising female middleweight prospect Alicia Napoleon (3-0, 3KO’s) will look to keep her perfect knockout ratio intact when she squares off against Latasha Burton (4-4) in their four-round contest. The hard-hitting Napoleon is coming off a 19-second demolition over Natalie King in her last bout in July and will be looking to continue her streak when she takes on Burton, who has never been stopped.
Dominican amateur superstar Carlos Adames (2-0, 1KO’s) is also set to see action when he squares off against Rasheed Olawale Lawal (1-1-1) in their six-round welterweight matchup. Now living in Brooklyn and training at the famed Gleason’s Boxing Gym, Adames has shown tremendous ability. A gifted boxer with lightning speed and devastating power, Adames will be looking to impress once again when he takes on the Nigerian-native Lawal.
DiBella Entertainment’s latest Irish-charge Noel Murphy (3-0, 2KO’s) will also appear on the card in a four-round welterweight matchup when he squares off against Mack Babb. The 21-year-old Murphy was a two-time National champion in his native Ireland before relocating to Yonkers, NY. Murphy has shown vast improvement through just three fights thus far in his pro career and is quickly developing a rabid fan-base amongst the large Irish fan-base here in NYC.
Brooklynites, Marlon Brown (4-0, 2KO’s) and Julian Sosa (2-0, 1KO) (1-0, 1KO) will all see action on the card in separate four-round bouts. Brown is set to square off against Evincii Dixon while Sosa squares off against Jorge Soto.
