Up and rising jr.welterweight Antonio Orozco (8-0, 5KOs) of San Diego, CA, is at all systems go for his next challenge at Golden Boy Promotions’ “Thursday Night Fight Club” held at the Nokia Live! in downtown Los Angeles, CA, and set for November 18th. Despite no opponent being announced as of yet, the talented 22-year-old is full steam ahead with his training in National City, a suburb of San Diego. Orozco, who signed with the well respected Frank Espinoza earlier this year, is coming off a tough but well deserved six round unanimous decision over Tijuana tough guy Humberto Tapia last August in his first bout under the Espinoza Boxing Club banner.
“I have to give Tapia recognition. He was tough and had a great chin,” the affable Orozco stated. “I was nervous at first but once I settled down in the third, I was able to be more effective.”
With the win, Orozco stepped up his competition considerably and proved he is as mature inside the ring as he is outside of it. On November 18th he is ready to continue his winning ways but this time, hopes to make it a much quicker night.
“My last three fights I have gone the distance so I think I deserve the knockout,” Orozco says with a chuckle regarding his next bout. “I am not going to look for it but if I see it, I am going to go for it.”
