Inaugural U.S. Grand Prix rescheduled for 2014:
The first-ever U.S. Grand Prix, which was initially scheduled to take place December 12-14, 2013 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., will be rescheduled for summer 2014 due to a scheduling conflict with international delegations. The major international tournament will showcase elite boxing nations from across the globe during a multi-day invitational tournament.
The U.S. Grand Prix will be the first international tournament on United States soil since 2007, providing the United States athletes with invaluable competitive experience.
The new event dates and list of nations and competitors will be released when available.

As both a Washington D.C. local and a fight fan, I was looking forward to attending the US Grand Prix next month. So it’s a shame that it will be delayed, but hopefully it does indeed come off next year. Certainly, USA Boxing can use more international tournament competition in advance of the 2016 Olympics.
