When Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez battled it out at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, they did so in front of a jam-packed crowd of enthusiastic supporters. Included in that crowd were scores of A-list celebrities. LL Cool J, Charles Barkley, Jack Nicholson, P. Diddy, Michael Strahan, Magic Johnson, Heidi Klum and on and on down the line from there. Tons of other athletes from the NBA and NFL, and of course other boxers as well. There were also lots of actors from the Showtime family, and all of their shows.
It certainly wasn’t “the most anticipated fight in boxing history” as the video claims. But it was the most anticipated fight of the year, and one of the biggest fights of the past few years. It’s also going on to be the most profitable fight of all-time, with more than $150 million of PPV revenue & $20 million at the gate, both records.
