Golden Boy released a UFC 193 promo video today on its YouTube channel, for the Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm event. Oscar De La Hoya introduced the clip, which showcases a would be young Holly Holm beginning to ply her trade in the boxing gym, then move her way onto the big stage, before switching it to the world of mixed martial arts.
The only angle I can see for how this is a match, is that Holm was of course one of the more prominent female boxers in the world. Rousey trains with some boxing folks and of course can’t keep Floyd Mayweather out of her mouth, but I’m failing to see the tie in with all of this.
Is there some new UFC and Golden Boy collaboration we’re going to see? Will boxing and the UFC begin working together to promote one another — or specifically, will certain boxing promoters, namely De La Hoya’s Golden Boy, have a new relationship with Dana White’s UFC?
